Obituary

Albert Neal Cox, 55, of Margate, FL passed away on April 7, 2023. Born in Chicago, IL to Rufus and Mary Cox, he was one of ten children. Sometimes affectionately called "Al" or "Bert," he was less affectionately referred to as "Bertram."

Albert was a carpenter by trade. As a successful business owner for many years, he, along with his partner, sold the business and he tried his hand at a new venture- yogurt. While that was not quite as successful, Albert returned to his trade building custom closets alongside one of his sons.

Above all and before anything, Albert was a family man. He adored his wife of 16 years, doted on all of their children, and when he was blessed with grandchildren his life was forever changed. His intensely sarcastic sense of humor often left you wondering if he was serious and his vocabulary was sprinkled with more than a few choice curse words. To know Albert was to love him.

The Cox family traveled frequently; especially cruises. Visiting Berlin, Germany was one of his most favorite vacations.

Albert's weekly family dinner consisted of good food, great company, and nonstop chatter from Albert; although every minute of every day was nonstop chatter from Albert. As a movie buff, he loved Marvel, Star Wars, and Hallmark movies- despite him claiming he was watching them "for the girls." Movie time was the only time Albert ever said, "Shhh!" He cherished all of his family time- but especially time spent watching Moana with his granddaughters and Mickey with his grandsons.

After three years and two marriage proposals, Albert finally married the love of his life, Sharda. They had 16 beautiful years together. Albert also leaves their children, Brittany Cox and her boyfriend, Richie, Vishal Singh and his wife, Jordan, Chelsie Miller and her husband Chad, Cody Cox and his girlfriend, Mikayla, Ashley Raj and her husband Karan, and Christian Cox; grandchildren, Jadyn, January, Layla, Mila, Julian, Liam, Carson, Caden, Vishaun, Ashana, Aveena, Nyomi, and Andrew; and his siblings, Susie, Mark, Rudy, Cindy, Janice and Chris to cherish his memory. He was preceded in passing by his granddaughter, Charlie; and siblings, Vickie, Steve, and Scottie.
