Angelo
Diaz
May 4, 1928 — May 5, 2025
Angel Luis Diaz, age 97, of Coconut Creek, Florida passed away on May 5th, 2025 peacefully in his sleep. Angel was born on May 4th, 1928 in the Santurce neighborhood of San Juan, Puerto Rico. The son of Agapito and Amparo.
After growing up as a child in Puerto Rico, he moved with his family to New York City. Angel enlisted in the Air Force as a young man. He served in the Air Force for 20 years, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant with assignments across the United States until he was honorably discharged in 1971.
Angel married Ines in 1973 in Brooklyn, NY. They remained together up until Angel's death and share one son, Michael. Together they raised Michael in Massachusetts and they later retired to Florida. After the Air Force, Angel worked a second career for approximately twenty years as a clerk at a newspaper printing press factory. After his "second" retirement he continued to work part time in both Massachusetts and then later Florida until the 2000s.
Angel was an avid storyteller and devoted to his wife and son. He enjoyed going on walks and spending time enjoying the pleasant breezes of his porch or balcony. He cherished family vacations. When living in Massachusetts, he would consistently spend long holiday weekends such as Memorial Day or Labor Day with his family in places such as Cape Cod and Lake George. During the summer there was always a longer vacation somewhere to places such as Florida, Canada, Hawaii, and Colombia.
Remaining to cherish Angel's memory are his wife Ines, son Michael, daughter-in-law Jennifer, and grandchildren Magdalena and Gabriela
