Anthony Daniel
Giancola
Jan 15, 1951 — Jan 13, 2022
Anthony "Tony" Daniel Giancola, 70, of Deerfield Beach, FL passed peacefully on January 13, 2022. Born in the infamous "Little Italy," Manhattan, New York on January 15, 1951. Beloved Anthony, the oldest of two, is survived by his parents, Carmine and Angela Giancola. Devoted father of Angela, Danny, Stephanie, and Melanie; father-in-law to Justin Weatherall; playful grandfather to Kaitlyn, Alexa, and Luke. Anthony was preceded in death by his younger brother, Michael.
Although graduating Boston University as an accountant, Anthony followed his passion of becoming a New York City firefighter for Engine 50, Ladder 19, Battalion 26, in the Bronx, NYC, where he retired. He was featured in a New York City newspaper, rescuing a woman from a fire in the 80's. He was deeply loved by his firehouse and was nicknamed "Giancutlet" for his culinary expertise and love for garlic. Anthony lived a life of adventure, never ceasing a moment to travel, golf, ski, scuba dive, or visit amusement parks with his family to ride the fastest roller coasters with his SF cap on backwards (he frequently lost caps). He truly loved life and inspired many to live theirs to the fullest. Anthony has taught us all, through his optimism and humility, to make the most out of every situation, and be grateful for our time here on earth. He will be deeply missed, and never forgotten through his life stories that will be passed down through our family's generations.
If Anthony has touched your heart, as he has many, in any way, please share your stories of remembrance.
