Carnovil
Direny
Mar 11, 1946 — Mar 5, 2022
Carnovil (Carl) Direny was born on March 11, 1946 in Baie des Moustiques of Port-de-Paix, Haiti to Julieme Direny and Rose Merisna Saint Ville. He was one of 9 children that included 3 girls and 6 boys.
In 1964, at the age of 18, he left his family home in order to pursue a technology focused education through ENAM at Port-au-Prince. This was a division of the Peres Salesiens de Don Bosco University in Haiti. After completing his four year degree in 1968, he was invited to become a faculty member as a Professor at the same facility.
While working as a Professor and maintaining a full time job in order to help support his family back in Port-de-Paix, he also made it a priority to volunteer. He used his knowledge to help teach technical skills to those less fortunate because they were unable to afford school.
Despite his busy schedule, he always found time to further his own education in multiple areas of technology and to improve his relationship with Jehovah God. By 1970, he graduated with an Associate of Applied Science in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering at the Salesiens School of Arts and Trades in Paris, France. In the Summer of 1972, he dedicated his life to serving Jehovah through symbolizing this with a public water baptism.
He attended an Electrical School from 1976 to 1978 while also getting on the job training at Usine a Glace Nationale from 1975 to 1978 where he received a certificate. He accomplished all of this while also serving as a father and husband throughout the years.
All of this earned knowledge helped to further his career where he became one of the top Electrical Engineers at the Whirlpool Company. It was there where his love for travel began as his company would send him as a representative worldwide. He fully migrated to the US in the early 1980's where he continued his education as required by the state of Florida in order to practice his skills.
Throughout his life, Carl prided himself as an educator and an avid scholar. He was generous and kind to others. Many have said that he truly would have been the one to give you the clothes off of his back if you were to ask him.
During his later years, he spent a lot of his time travelling back and forth to Haiti. He was saddened by the suffering of others. This compelled his heart to come out of retirement in his 70's in order to help those in need.
On March 5, 2022 at 6:18PM, Carnovil (Carl) Direny, at the age of 75 fell asleep in death, but did so encircled with love. He died while being an active source of support and strength to those in need whether they were close by him or in Haiti. He died while upholding his faith and integrity. He died with the knowledge that he did his best with what he was given. Finally, he died with a smile knowing that he was very much loved by all his children whom he also loved sincerely. He is now at rest.
Carl is survived by his 13 children: Rose Direny-Jean, Robenson Direny, Wedney Direny, Jones Direny, Russel Direny, Marjorie Direny, James Direny, Allyns Direny, Karl Direny, Kervin Direny, Wanda Agela, Kalena Direny, and Karlens Direny; with their mothers and families. He is also survived by his 4 brothers and 2 sisters as well as their families.
He is sleeping in Jehovah's memory. We look forward to seeing our beloved father, dad, papa, pops, grandpa, great grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend in paradise.
