Clara Duverger
Gabriel
Aug 21, 1962 — Dec 30, 2023
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
Clara Duverger Gabriel, 61, of Coral Springs, Florida, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023. Clara was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on August 21, 1962 to Lina Castel and Jacques Yreck Duverger.
After immigrating to the United States at 16 years of age, Clara attended high school in Upstate New York, and would go on to earn her Bachelor and Master Degrees from St. John's University and Nova Southeastern University, respectively, after which she also earned a certificate in Business Administration from Keiser University. She worked as a Special Education Teacher for Miami-Dade County Public Schools for over 30 years, and was adored by her students and colleagues alike.
Clara is survived by her husband, Yves Gabriel of Coral Springs, whom she shared over 40 years of her life with in partnership. With her one true love, they created a life together forged by true friendship, infinite love, deep respect and unwavering faith. Clara is also survived by her greatest pride and joy, her two daughters — Naika Catherine Gabriel and Dashka Adelaide Gabriel. She is also survived by her mother, Lina Castel and siblings, Karine Duverger, Harry Duverger and Jacques Duverger, and their children.
During a life most vibrantly lived, she enjoyed the simple but profound pleasures of life; listening to French ballads and latin music, traveling with her family to places she dreamed of as a child, walking around her neighborhood daily, being a present and loyal friend to so many, enjoying films and shows with her beloved husband and daughters, spending precious time with her mother and attending church as a devout and lifelong Catholic. Her adoration for the Virgin Mother Mary is perhaps the greatest reflection of her values as a person and matriarch; principled, devoted, benevolent, warm, faithful and true.
