Clarence Valentine
Jack
Nov 20, 1934 — Sep 21, 2021
Clarence Valentine Jack, 86, of Coral Springs, FL passed away on September 21, 2021.
Clarence Valentine Jack was born to the late Riley B. Jack and Matilda Hunt Jack, on 11/20/1934 and departed this earthly life on 9/21/2021. Clarence was one of 17 children, 12 boys and 5 girls. He is the husband of Carmen Baly-Jack and father of Simone Jack-John and Charisma Jack-Belvilus.
Clarence was born in San Nicolas, Aruba where he spent most of his youth. Clarence was a kind, even tempered, generous and committed man. His faith in Jesus, Father God, was unwavering and imperative. His presence was quiet but not oblivious, and as we are all human, he was not perfect, nor did he ever boast of perfection. He always made you feel welcome in his presence. Clarence received his primary and secondary education at Prince Bernard School and Ambak School where he took up machinist. He then worked with Chicago Bridge in Aruba where he mastered the skill as a welder.
Clarence enjoyed playing ping pong, but his first love was baseball where he played as a pitcher for the Heinekens team in Aruba. He was an avid Dodgers fan. He would later be inducted into Aruba's Laveist Stadium Baseball Hall of Fame.
Clarence eventually moved to the United States in 1963, where he continued to work as an experienced welder at Burges Steel and was a member of Local 40 Union in NYC. He would be requested to work for top assignments in welding due to his excellent craftsmanship. He worked on buildings and bridges such as the World Trade Center, the Verrazano Narrows Bridge, Rockefeller Center and Carnegie Hall. He mounted the first famous New Year's Eve ball at Times Square Center in NYC. Clarence's foreman, Robert Bobby Kent, stated "When Clarence completed a weld, his work looked like glass! Clarence was a nice man and a good friend. He was the best and fastest welder I've known in 37 years in North America".
Anyone who knew Clarence also knew him for his love of music and dance. He would dance with anyone, anytime, or by himself! Although Clarence developed Alzheimer's, his love for baseball, music and dance never left his perception.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Roy, Ivon, Violet, Harold, Vincent, Maria, Albert, and brother in-law, Lovell. Clarence leaves to cherish his life and memories his wife, Carmen Baly-Jack; daughter, Charisma Jack-Belvilus and son-in-law, Luther Belvilus; Simone Jack-John (daughter of wife, Olivia Jack, who preceded him in death) and son-in-law, Wayne John; step-daughters, Alicia Morales, Jenny Chin-Adams; his grandchildren, Meru, Jaden and Nayla; granddaughter-in-law, Lauren; his brothers and sisters, Patrick, Alvin, Carlton, James, Riley, Cecil, Joan and Cecilia, many nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces, family and friends, and best friend, Carlton Duinkerk. If you were in the presence of Clarence's company he would often say: "Man oh man, I never seen nothing like this in my life!" Although Clarence is no longer with us in his physical being he will always be remembered in our hearts, mind, and soul, he will never be forgotten!
