Corey Levar (Big Lou) Jordan, 45, was born on November 20, 1979 in Broward County, Florida. He transitioned from this earthly life to life eternal on August 17, 2025 at Broward General Medical Center in Ft Lauderdale, Florida. He was the beloved son of Wilma Jordan and the late Luther Jordan.

Corey grew up in Lauderhill, Florida and attended Plantation High School. Besides participating in track and wrestling, he especially excelled in football as a defensive end, winning various accolades, scholarship offers and recognition throughout the state. He continued his education at Pasadena City College and New Mexico University majoring in criminal justice.

Corey had a career with the city of Broward County spanning almost 10 years where he worked with excellence for Water & Wastewater Services and the Transit Department. Corey was a member of the Israelite Church of God in Jesus Christ.

Those who knew Corey saw his passion for sports and his children. He heavily valued perseverance, determination and hard work, in school and on the court. Whether it be to his own children, or kids and parents he just met at a tournament, an encouraging word and praise was always given.

Corey is survived by loving wife Gowmatie (Sharmin) Samaroo-Jordan; sons, Malachi Jordan and Corey Jordan Jr; daughters, Halle Jordan and Shantell Quan Hem-Roberts along with her husband Nathan Roberts; his beloved mother, Wilma Jordan; three brothers; three sisters; several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of dear friends and relatives who will forever cherish his memory.
