David B.
Kelsey
Nov 6, 1939 — Jan 30, 2022
Hollywood
David B. Kelsey was born on November 6, 1939. He is survived by his sister Patricia and his two nieces, Haley and Jessica. He died January 30th at his Assisted Living facility in Hollywood, Florida.
Dave was an entrepreneur, involved in many enterprises including his sound equipment rental business in Los Angeles, part owner of the Hollywood, California nightclub, "Club Lingerie", President of the South Beach Hotel and Restaurant Association, and organizer of the South Beach Breakfast Club, a civic organization. In the old days in Los Angeles, he was invited to many V.I.P. events in the movie and music industry.
He loved his South Beach. He seemed to know every third person in South Beach as he helped many businesses get started, with permits and advice. Mayor Levine, Miami Beach mayor, a few years ago, proclaimed a David Kelsey Day, complete with a large certificate signed by all the commissioners. In his later years, he was a frequent user of the Miami Beach Public Library, where he went nearly every day, to take out DVD's and get assistance with his cell phone. Even after suffering a stroke, he managed to haul his walker down his apartment stairs and walk to the bus, so that he could go to the library. The staff was very fond of him there.
David was the kindest person and helped a lot of people with jobs, housing and friendship. His friends are spread far and wide including Canada, Holland and France. He was a good and true friend to many. He will be deeply missed.
May he rest in deep peace.
