David John Knott, 72, of Boca Raton, FL passed away peacefully at home on November 5, 2025. He was born in Fort Wayne, IN to Ervin and Betty Knott on March 23, 1953.

A retired firefighter and proud owner of Knott Just Shutters, David was a man of endless curiosity, humor, and heart with an incredible work ethic. Being a cancer survivor, David approached life with a deep sense of gratitude and positivity that inspired everyone around him. Known for his quick wit and jokes, he had a unique ability to find joy in the smallest of things and to share that joy with others.

Music was one of David's greatest passions—he loved collecting guitars and could often be found strumming a tune or talking about the stories behind each instrument. He also enjoyed spending weekends at the flea market, searching for treasures and chatting with friends old and new.

A believer in the power of positive thinking, David filled his home—and the lives of those around him—with uplifting notes and encouraging words. His kind spirit and lighthearted humor will be remembered by all who knew him.

David is preceded in death by his brother, John G. Knott; and niece, Sarah Taylor Kuntz. He is survived by his sisters, Suzanne (Jim) Taylor of Berrien Springs, Michigan, Julianne Reed of Phoenix, Arizona, Cheryl (Gary) Baker of Kendallville, Indiana; brother, Dr. Paul Knott (Linda Keuneke) of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and his partner, Debra Hoppes of Coconut Creek, Florida.
