Diane Marie Whatley, fondly known as D to those who loved her most, went to sleep exactly one year after the passing of her beloved husband and never woke up again. She passed away on March 11, 2026.

Diane is survived by her two daughters, Renee Whatley & Rachel (Marc) Cunningham; her 'joys'/granddaughters, Kendall & Jacsyn; her sister, Jayne and a collection of dear lifelong friends she referred to as sisters.

Diane grew up in New York, where she met and married Jeffrey in 1972. Together they built a life and family together spanning more than 50 years! Diane and Jeff moved their young family to Florida in 1988. They loved making a home together, taking vacations and going to the beach as much as possible.

Diane spent her career working in arts and activities with seniors and then managing parks in South Florida.

In her free time, Diane was incredibly social. She loved spending time with family and friends. She could be found everywhere from the fields supporting her granddaughters to the bingo game at the community clubhouse.

Diane was full of life, too much to contain! She loved helping others live their life too by directing them in any way they'd allow her. She never hesitated to share a suggestion or opinion and thrived when others needed her!

She will be missed by all those who knew her.
