Dorothy Ruth Barrett, 85, of Sunrise, Florida, passed away on December 3, 2025. She was born on August 3, 1940, in Liberty, South Carolina, to William and Aldie Holden. Dorothy was one of seventeen children, all of whom preceded her in death.

Dorothy was a devoted and loving mother who dedicated her life to her family. She is survived by her children Stevie, Lynn (Stuart), Regina (John), and Tammy (Lee). Dorothy deeply loved her family and especially enjoyed cooking for them. She was known for her homemade meals, particularly her mac and cheese and banana pudding. She loved her morning coffee and enjoyed eating, gardening, trips to the casino, and scratching off lottery tickets. Dorothy will be remembered for her kind heart, generous spirit, and spunky attitude.

She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on through the family she loved so dearly and the many lives she touched.
