Duverne Etienne was born in Bergee, Haiti on June 23, 1952. He was a Brother, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle, and Friend and left this land at age 69 to reunite with loved ones in heaven on Friday, December 31, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alphonsi Jean and Oxilien Etienne; brothers, Maxsso and Berman Etienne; and son, Max Gabriele Etienne.

Duverne Etienne was known as a devoted figure to his family. Etienne is survived by his spouse, Marie Vita Moise Etienne; daughter and son-in-law, Leslie Etienne Estorcien and Lesly Estorcien; grandchildren, Tyson and Tyler; siblings, Amelia, Oxilia, Joachin, Etienne, and Willy Pierre; cousins, Dieula Cadet, Marie Edith Jean Baptist, and Morange Joseph; and his close extended family of in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Etienne was an avid work lover and dedicated to giving support to his family. At a young age, he had to drop out from middle school and join his cousin (Morange Joseph) in the city of Port-de-Paix where they learned sawing to provide help to their siblings. During that time, Etienne met his lovely spouse (Marie Vita) and they married a few years later. Together they had two children, Leslie and Gabriel (Etienne). Etienne had an even greater vision of providing support to his family. He left Haiti for the USA in 1985 in search of a better life. During his time in the United States, Mr. Duverne worked for many companies in the hospitality industry. He worked at Sheraton Hotel for over 22 years.

Visitation for Mr. Duverne Etienne will be held at Monarch Family Funeral Home, 2950 N US Highway 441, Margate, FL 33063 on Saturday, January 15, from 8-9am with a service beginning at 9am followed by a graveside service at Fairway Memorial Gardens at 11:15am.
