Eileen Mary Houlihan passed away on May 24, 2024 at the age of 78 in Pompano Beach, Florida after an illness. It should be known that she was in no pain; and at peace with being called home by God.

Eileen was raised in the Catholic faith in Bayside, Queens, along with her brother Arthur, by parents, Mary (née Dugan) and Arthur McKenny. She attended Bayside High School, and, in 1971, was married to John "Sonny" Houlihan.

Eileen was known by everyone she touched as a selfless woman who forever put the needs of others above her own – and always with a smile.
Never was this more evident than in her tireless work as an activities coordinator at retirement communities; a job in which she dedicated herself fully in the service of others.

She was fun-loving, wise, and fiercely loyal. She was cheerful, quick with a laugh, loved to garden and craft, and never passed up an opportunity to dance.

Her unwavering Irish Catholic faith provided her with the strength to remain a loving, caring wife to John "Sonny" Houlihan; mother to John, Michael, and Brian Houlihan; mother-in-law to Colette Houlihan and Janine Scotti; and proud grandmother of John Robert, Aidan, Tobias, and Joshua.
