Glosmin "Girlie" Brown Thomas, age 77, of Tamarac, FL, passed away peacefully on the morning of January 18, 2025. Born on January 24, 1947, in the District of Camberwell, St. Mary, Jamaica, Girlie was beloved by all who knew her.

In her early years, Girlie moved to England, and pursued a career in nursing. She worked at Greenwich Hospital before relocating to the United States in 1981, and continued her dedicated service as a nurse.

Girlie had a zest for life and a love for adventure. She enjoyed taking road trips when she was able to drive, and would go on cruises with friends. She was an avid bingo player, never letting anything stop her from attending—even if it meant taking an Uber. She was a devoted Miami Heat fan, sharing many cherished moments watching games over the phone with her dear friend Maisie when she couldn't attend in person.

Above all, she was a faithful follower of God. She was a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church and later, she was a founding member of Greater Providence Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons, Edward Thomas Jr. and Michael (Tina) Thomas; her grandchildren, Sherian, Tyree, Makayla, Cyann, Dylan, Sanai, Noah, and Aidan; and her great-grandchildren, Kanai and Mikai.

Girlie was preceded in death by her daughter, Corline Thomas (1997), and her ex-husband, Edward Thomas (2024).

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
