Obituary

Born in Corail, Haiti on November 15, 1937, Ilincier Pierre was the son of the late Lucia Andre and the late Ilincie Pierre. At age 13, he left Corail and moved to Port-au-Prince to live with family members. As a young man, he served in the Haitian military and worked for years at the port/customs of Port-Au-Prince.

Later, he met his soulmate Madeleine and, in their union, gave birth to 3 children. Ilincier Pierre had a total of 8 children including a stepdaughter. In 1975, he migrated to U.S. and lived in NY for over 40 years. He worked very hard to provide for his family and to bring his entire family legally in the U.S. He was a hard worker, had multiple jobs as a handyman, taxi driver and worked for Teletime video company for many years until he retired after 9/11. Mr Pierre was very courageous, generous, independent thinker and had a strong belief of social and political issues for both US and Haiti. He had a great vision for his hometown Corail to build schools and hospitals but never had the resources to accomplish his dream. In leisure times, he watched CNN, played dominoes and checkers. He was also a great dancer and enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. In August 2020, he relocated to South Florida to live with his oldest daughter. One of his best accomplishments, 3 months before the end of his life, was to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior.

He is survived by his brother Estime Pierre, his sisters Laurette Pierre, Laurette Michel, his step-daughter Enna, his children Magalie, Marie Lucia, Frantz, Lucienne, Kettlie, Jean; his 18 grand-children, 4 great grand-children, his nieces, nephews, cousins, along with families: Pierre, Andre, Michel, Jean-Baptiste, Jean-Charles, Gaspard, Erne, Robinson, Carter, Sicard, and a host of other relatives and friends affected by his loss. He will truly be missed by family and numerous friends.
