Born and raised in Northville, Michigan, Joanne was a graduate of Northville High school class of 1948.

She dedicated her life to raising her five sons as a single mother. Even when her health was failing, she always put her son's needs in front of her own. She was a masterful cook who enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners for her family; every Sunday was a Holiday meal at her house. She had an eye for interior decorating and making professional grade floral arrangements that she would never sell because "they weren't good enough." She loved planting flowers and bushes with her artistc eye, and playing Pinochle with her sons brought her great joy. She was a great dancer in her youth and in her later years, she enjoy spending her winters in south Florida and her summers in the peacefulness of northern Michigan.

Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Bernieta Gellner; her brother, Jerry Gellner; and a son, James Jeffrey Murray.

Joanne leaves behind her sons Mark (Patricia), Joseph, Tim, and Daniel; five grandchilden, Mark, Sarah, Ashly, Brendan and Mckoy; also three great grandchilden.

Services for Joanne will be held privately.
