Obituary

Donation, Guestbook and Livestream instructions are below the obituary.

John Francis Farley, 64, of Coral Springs, Florida, entered into God's Kingdom of Heaven on September 15th, 2025.

John was born on November 2nd, 1960, in Providence, Rhode Island, to Robert and Jane (Murphy) Farley. He was raised in Providence, attending Classical High School and Providence College. There, on the steps of Alberta Magnus hall, he met the love of his life, Roberta, his wife of 38 years. Together they had two children, Hannah and Jack. John held a variety of employment roles, including sales and energy consulting; but to him his most important title, besides Husband and Father, was Pastor Teacher. In 2010, that role brought the Farley family to Florida where John served as the Pastor Teacher of Lighthouse Bible Church. He also served as a substitute teacher and board member at Coral Springs Christian Academy.

John was selfless, charitable with his time, energy, and spirit, for the good of those around him. He embodied the servant leader role that God blessed him with as a Pastor Teacher. He loved the Word of God and he had a passionate gift to teach it. John was wise, smart, witty, honorable, and had an everlasting light that shone through him.

He loved music of all kinds but especially Jazz, '70s Soul, Christian Hymns, and Classical. He could always be heard humming a tune, singing an original song, practicing on his saxophone, or playing his Sonos music a little too loud. March was his favorite time of year, not because of St. Patrick's day despite his Irish heritage, but because of the NCAA March Madness tournament. Bonus points if Providence College was in the running (Go Friars!). Writing and poetry were one of the ways he documented his life journey.

John especially enjoyed his family. Roberta, Hannah, and Jack were his pride and joy. The addition of his grandsons Elias, and later Everett, brought him immense joy. He was a devoted husband, loving father, adoring Papa, and a pretty good dog dad, too, to his furry friend Barnabas Francis Farley (BFF). John loved a good play on words.

Throughout his 8-year battle with cancer, he remained positive, faithful in God's plan, and strong; despite the very tough battles he faced. He will be remembered as humble, courageous, kind, and genuine by all those whose lives he touched.

John is survived by his loving wife Roberta A. Farley, their children John (Jack) A. Farley and his fiancée Moa, Hannah J. Fernandez and her husband Emanuel, their grandchildren Elias John and Everett Cole, his siblings Jane Pontes and her husband Tom, Richard Farley and his wife Chele, and Robert Farley. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law and their wives, Gregg and Sharon Anderson, Brian and Michelle Anderson, and Glenn and Tammie Anderson, as well as his nieces and nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Jane Farley.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday September 23rd, at 2 P.M. at Monarch Funeral Home in Margate. Preceding the service there will be a reception at the funeral home beginning at 1 P.M. After the service, there will be a Celebration of Life at the Farley family home. Family and friends are invited to attend all events and celebrate John's life. He would want us to be overjoyed at his promotion to heaven.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Lighthouse Bible Church of South Florida or Wounded Warrior Project in John's name.

Most importantly, John wished for all his family, friends, and each member of this Earth to hear and believe in the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and join him in Heaven. The Gospel is the good news about the Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ.  Christ is the answer to the bad news about mankind. The bad news was that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. We were all dead in our trespasses and sins, but God gave His one and only Son, and He became flesh. Our Lord Jesus Christ is God in the flesh forever. In Christ, all the fullness of deity dwells in bodily form. He died for our sins on the cross. Then He was buried. On the third day, God the Father raised Him from the dead. This is the good news of the Gospel!

1 Corinthians 15:3-4: For I handed down to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.

John 3:16: For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.

Acts 16:31: They said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household."
