John Audis Gill, 76, passed on peacefully at his home in Coral Springs, FL on September 2, 2025. He was the oldest of 8 children born to Audis Cramer Gill of New Orleans, LA and Patricia Ann Himel of Hammond, LA.  Born in Hammond, John grew up in Slidell, LA.  He graduated from Slidell High School in 1967 where he excelled in sports and academics, going on to Tulane University where he graduated in 1971. He leaves behind a grieving wife and son, Floralba Gill and Christopher Gill; 7 siblings, Kathy Hoover (Carroll), Sally Ott (Steve), Pat Gill, Carol Cureau (George), Mike Gill (Yadira), Tim Gill (Aida), Colleen Burns (Danny) and 36 nieces and nephews.

Retired from Auto sales as a successful and popular salesman and General Manager, John enjoyed a leisurely life with his wife in Coral Springs where he was well known in his neighborhood for his friendliness and daily strolls with his beloved dogs, Oscar and Paris.

John was a kind and generous man. If you were in his company his concern was always for your comfort over his own. In his eulogy for his father Chris described his Dad as having come from a lost generation of the well mannered gentleman, telling Chris often, "be a giver not a taker." He navigated through life with a soul full of kindness.

"May your kindness, joy and happiness always guide you."
