Kristi Marie
O'Melia
Dec 19, 1986 — Jul 22, 2024
In lieu of flowers or planting a tree, the family requests donations for her son, Dylan. Please make checks payable to Dylan Karakouzian and mail or deliver to the funeral home.
Kristi Marie O'Melia of Coral Springs, FL transitioned July 22, 2024 at the young age of 37.
How does a mother begin to write an obituary for her daughter? We've fought for her health and safety for so very long. Kristi was born when her siblings were already 10 & 11; they were her second set of parents. Then she was lucky to even have a third set - her Nani & Popi. Oh, was she spoiled!
Kristi grew up with lots of friends. She was always a good student, graduating in 11th grade. She was a peer counselor in high school. Not liking college, she studied and got her real estate license at 18. Kristi was so often acknowledged as the "BEST" in many of her endeavors and jobs. She had a way with words, persuasion, if you will, allowing her to always get her way. Even though we didn't want any pets, we wound up with birds, fish, lizards, Guinea pigs, and 2 dogs upon her persistence.
It was important to Kristi to dress up and look beautiful, as she naturally always was. Her relationship with her Nani was so very special. She seemed to be a magnet for children, pets, people down on their luck, and the homeless. Kristi was fortunate to meet Shant who is loved by all. They loved decorating their home, making Christmas really special, and dressing for Halloween in all kinds of crazy costumes. Among all her beautiful friends & family, vacations, and experiences, the NUMBER 1 "BESTEST" thing in her life was/is by far her son, DYLAN. She and Shant created a super kid that will be loved and watched over always. Dylan will always be reminded of how much his Mama loved him and only wanted the best for him. We will see to it she gets her wishes.
In closing, I say
Kristi, you will be greatly missed by so many. You were loved by so many. If you are watching down on us, smile and stay peaceful.
Love Always,
Mom
Kristi is survived by her parents, Jim and Dolores O'Melia; her beloved son, Dylan; and her siblings.
