Luis Emilo Garcia of Chicago, IL, passed away in Coral Springs, FL with his daughters and granddaughter at his side on May 22, 2024. He was born on August 19, 1942 in San Pedro De Marcoris, Dominican Republic; the son of Jose Polanco Garcia and Elena Alonso Llitera. In 1960, he immigrated to Chicago, IL from the Dominican Republic as a political refugee with his mother, stepfather and brother- all of whom preceded him in death.

Luis was a graduate of Roosevelt University.  A jack of all trades, he tried his hand at being an entrepreneur and salesman, certified massage therapist, real estate developer and mechanic. Luis's personality was magnetic, he was one who made friends with everyone he met.

He is survived by his daughters, Jackie Garcia, Jill Garcia and Gina Garcia Brinley; and grandchildren, Aiden Brinley, Alena Brinley, Evan Moore, Alex Gomez and Nico Gomez.

Luis was reunited with Christ in the last month of his life and requested and received the Sacrament of the Sick. May he rest in peace and power.
