Marta Jean Whitten Davies was born April 26, 1958 to Carol and Leonard Whitten in Kingston, N.Y.  She was the first of the five Whitten girls and was adored by her young parents.

Marta started her love of reading and learning at a very young age. At the age of 14, she and her family moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL, where she attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School, graduating in 1976. Marta attended Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, as part of the class of 1982 graduating with a double major. After graduating, Marta went on to work in various jobs in media before returning to the South Florida area. It was here that she founded her own business and met her husband, Malcolm Davies, in 1993 and gave birth to their son, David Davies, in 1996.

Marta will be remembered for her unique attitude, loving energy, love for New York sports team (Knicks, Mets, Giants and Rangers), and her hate for the Miami Dolphins and Miami Heat. After a valiant fight, Marta passed away November 10, 2023 at 65 years old, surrounded by her loved ones.

Marta is survived by her son, David; husband, Malcolm; and sisters, Lynn, Joan and Tina. We all will miss Marta dearly every day until we see her again.
