Martha Poupart age 84 of Margate, Florida passed away Monday, December 8,2025

Martha was born in Humacao, Puerto Rico on April 25,1941, by the late Martha Poupart Fontanez and Enrique Poupart.

Martha graduated from Ana Roque High School in Humacao, Puerto Rico, in 1959. She moved to Brooklyn, New York with her brother Mateo Poupart but she hated New York because it was the first time she experienced discrimination. She had never experienced this in Puerto Rico. She then moved to Connecticut and the later Boston, Massachusetts.

In Massachusetts Martha attended John Hickox School and graduated as a legal secretary. She would go on to securing a position at John Hancock Life Insurance Company where she worked for 25 years before retiring. In 1995 she moved to Margate, Florida and soon got bored and got a job at Publix Supermarket as a way to pass the time. At the ripe age of 81 she retired finally.

Martha walked 5 miles daily for 30 years; she was a movie buff and gave all her free popcorn and free movies tickets to her grandkids. She loved taking her vacations with her family and grandchildren whom she called "savages" and they loved it. She cooked every holiday meal and invited many to come and eat. We will truly miss her cooking. Martha loved singing dancing and her family. She always had a smile . We loved her laughter and happy spirit.

She leaves to celebrate her life 3 daughters, Hazel, Sandra and Brunilda "Nina." She had 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday December 17, 2025 at Monarch Funeral Home 2950 N State Rd 7 Margate Florida 33063

The procession will depart at 12noon to Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery 1500 S State Road 7 North Lauderdale Florida 33063
