Obituary

Guestbook instructions are below the obituary.

Today we honor the life of Mealine "Michelle" Belfort Clemmons — a devoted daughter, a cherished sister, a loving mother, wife, and a special friend whose presence brought warmth, connection, and joy wherever she went. Michelle lived with an open heart and an open spirit, greeting the world with a smile that made others feel instantly welcomed and loved.

Mealine "Michelle" Belfort was born a twin on April 30, 1975, in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, to Morales Belfort and Laura Charlemagne. She has four sisters and six brothers and later became the proud mother of three children. At the age of twelve, she migrated to the United States in 1987, embracing a new life with courage and determination. She attended Deerfield High School, where she ran cross country and track, and Keiser College. Her serving spirit eventually led her into a career as a health care professional after working many years in retail.

Michelle had a remarkable gift for people. She connected quickly, listened deeply, and cared enough to follow up, check in, and make sure others felt supported. Her conversations were genuine moments of understanding, laughter, and encouragement. She carried a serving heart— ready to help, ready to give, ready to share what she had. Her generosity was one of her defining qualities. Whether through thoughtful gifts, acts of kindness, or simply showing up when someone needed her, Michelle expressed love through giving. She found joy in making others feel valued, and she did so with sincerity and grace.

Michelle was often the glue that held her family together. She kept up with relatives near and far, staying connected across long distances and bringing people together with intention and love. She gave sacrificially to family in both Haiti and the United States, sharing from what she had with a generosity that reflected her deep compassion and sense of responsibility.
