Michael Dean
Hittle
Dec 18, 1957 — Oct 18, 2025
Michael Dean Hittle, 67, of Margate, FL passed away on October 18, 2025 surrounded by family. Born in Indianapolis, IN on December 18, 1957, he was one of six children to Michael and Norma Hittle.
Michael was a man who lived with a full heart and a great sense of humor. He was known for his quick wit, playful nature, and the way he could make anyone laugh, even on the toughest days. His fun-loving spirit was a source of joy to his family, friends, and anyone fortunate enough to cross his path.
Michael's career began in Indianapolis working for Citizens Gas before he relocated to South Florida. It was here that he spent many years working for the City of Fort Lauderdale, where he was known not only for his hard work and dedication but also for his ability to bring laughter into the workplace. Michael had a true gift for lifting spirits and making the day a little brighter.
Outside of work, Michael found peace and happiness in the outdoors. He was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman who treasured time spent in nature. Whether telling stories at "The Round Table" or cracking a joke at just the right moment, he had a way of making every gathering memorable. He was a man who didn't take life too seriously and reminded those around him to enjoy the little things. Michael most certainly left an indelible mark on his nephews as he was enthralled to share his love and knowledge of the outdoors with them.
"Mikey" as he was affectionately called, was preceded in death by his sister, Cathy Strain; brother, Danny Hittle; and his beloved Boston Terrier, Ruby.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen, who shared in his adventures and laughter throughout their 36 years together. Also left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Patty (Mark) Rich, Nancy Passwaiter, and Susan (Gene) Yeakle; numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family.
Mikey's absence leaves a hole in many hearts, but his stories, laughter, and spirit will continue to live on in those who knew him best.
