Obituary

Orlando Martinez, 71, of Port St. Lucie, passed away on July 15, 2022. Orlando was born on October 22, 1951, to Rafael & Isabel Caban Martinez in Puerto Rico. Shortly after, 1953, the family moved to Bronx, New York.

On August 22 nd , 1972, Orlando began his life with Maria, the love of his life, and they were happily married for 50 years. In 1974, they gave birth to the first child, Roland, they then moved from New York City to New Bedford, Massachusetts. They gave birth to their only daughter Priscilla in 1975, and their 3 rd child Isaac, in 1978. Orlando and Maria Martinez raised their children and made certain that their foundation of faith in God came first in their lives.

Orlando had numerous careers during his life, as it was a priority to provide for his family. He was an EMT with the City of New York, served in the US Army, was a member of the Massachusetts Army National Guards, a Firefighter with the New Bedford, Massachusetts Fire Department, a Constable, a Sheriff Deputy with the Broward County Sheriff's Office, and lastly he worked vehemently as a Sales Manager at the Sunrise Hyundai dealership. Reaching unsurmountable amount of accolades as his sales reached yearly recognition.

Orlando was an exceptional humanitarian that loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed taking long drives, playing dominoes, cards, pool and especially liked to dance (the Cha-Cha). We know that Orlando is enveloped by the love of his parents, his brothers Robert and Marcial, and his son Roland who passed before him. Orlando is survived by his devoted wife: Maria, his siblings: Maria and Jose R. Martinez, his children: Priscilla (spouse Edwin) and Isaac (spouse Jacqueline), five grandchildren: Darius, Roland Jr., Xavier, Ariana, and Ella, and 2 great- grandchildren: Micah and Walter, along with many cousins and family members who loved him and will miss him dearly.
