Polly Persad was born in Eckels Village Williamsville Trinidad, West Indies on the 30th May, 1944. She passed away peacefully on March 17, 2024. Predeceased by her father and mother, Pyarilal and Ramdoolarie Maraj. She married the love of her life, Ramesh Dath Persad, in 1962. She is survived by her children Neera (Wayne) and Aneel Persad (Shanta). She was the grandmother of Ashley, Kiara, Wayne II, Amber and Justin. She was the great grandmother of Sariyah. She was the sister of Chiney (Seereeram), Doris (Lutchman), Dolly (Selwyn), Babla (Dolly) and Harrichan (Rajpatee). She was daughter in-law of Outardaie Persad and sister in-law of Kanta (Koonj), Tara (Vinod), Ashram (Diane), Uma (Ravi) and Roma (Arun). She has several nieces and nephews who reside in the United States of America, Trinidad and Canada.

Polly lived most of her adult life in the state of Florida. She had a successful career in the Financial Industry. In later years she willingly left her career to work alongside her husband in their own business. Her family was her top priority. Her home was always open for visiting family and friends. To many who needed a mother figure in their life Polly was there. She was a dedicated believer in Christ. She faithfully served the Lord in local churches and in the community by caring for and feeding the homeless. She took great pleasure in praying with people. She always put the needs of others before herself. She had a gentile demeanor, rarely uttering a harsh word or complaint. In her free time she enjoyed gardening and caring for beautiful flowering plants.
