Ralph Lovaglio,
Jr.
Dec 29, 1938 — Apr 7, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved father, Ralph Lovaglio Jr. He was a die-hard NY Yankee fan and crossed home plate for the final time on Sunday, April 7, 2024. During his remarkable career on Earth he played multiple positions consisting of Navy veteran, retiree from Verizon, US Postal Service and most importantly devoted father.
Ralph was a true champion both on and off the field. Born and raised in Freeport, New York, he developed an early passion for the game of baseball which grew stronger each year.
Throughout his illustrious life, Ralph touched the lives of countless individuals with his grace, humility, unrelenting spirit and capacity to love. Ralph stepped up to the plate many times over the course of his career as father to Donald and James Tesoriero, Kim Wildenberg, Jeanmarie Lusby, Robert and Jennifer Lovaglio. Ralph's bench is extremely deep with his grandchildren Lorenzo, Vincent, Donald, Rebekah, Anna, Joshua, William, Jack, Katie, Raffaele, Angelo, Serena and Shane and great grandchildren Adrianna, Antonio and Santino.
The diamond has no steps and neither did Ralph! His capacity to love all that entered his life elevates him to Hall of Fame status. Ralph also leaves behind his brother, Michael, and sister, Karen Hall. Ralph joins his parents, Ralph Sr. and Elsa, in the stadium of heaven where they will continue to watch over and cheer for those that remain in the game of life.
Off the diamond, Ralph was devoted to his family, loyal friend, and a pillar of unconditional love and strength. His legacy of kindness, integrity, an perseverance will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Wildflower Foundation for the blind and visually impaired – or the charity of your choice in honor of Ralph.
As we bid farewell to the captain and coach of our family we take solace in knowing he played the game of life with dignity and grace and unlimited love through the final inning.
"Though the game may end, the memories we share will last an eternity." Ralph's jersey will hang in our families hall of fame and will be memorialized for future generations.
Please share your memories of Ralph or express condolences to his family through our online guestbook.
