It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert Henry Alrod on September 22, 2022.

Beloved husband and soulmate of Doreen Blackman, father of Mitch, Lori, Lianna and adopted children Ehsan Rasti and Dela Kalbassi.  Grandfather of Madison Alrod, Dakota Caplan, Skye Caplan and Sierra Jonas.  Brother and brother-in-law of the late Temma Gotfrit and the late Sidney Gotfrit and Gerald Blackman.  Uncle of Earle and Wendy Gotfrit, Neil and Sharon Gotfrit and Gillian Blackman.  Son of the late Celia and the late Sam Alrod.

Robert earned his BSC from McGill University, his MBA from Columbia University and, at the age of 86, was in the midst of writing his thesis for a Doctorate in International Business.

Robert was a "serial entrepreneur" and was involved in a variety of businesses. Among his numerous accomplishments and awards, he was honored with the Centennial Medal conferred on July 1, 1967 in recognition of valuable service to the nation (Canada).  He was also active in the community, involved in several philanthropic pursuits and was thrilled to become a citizen of the United States in December 2005.

A wonderful life that came to an end,

Robert died as he lived, as everyone's friend.
