Obituary

Robert Jay Montgomery, 58, of Margate, FL transitioned unexpectedly to his eternal home on July 26, 2023. Born in Omaha, Nebraska on February 25, 1965, he was one of two children to Jay and Lois Montgomery.

Rob, or Monti, as he was more affectionately called, experienced life all over the states as the son of an Air Force Master Sergeant. From Missouri, Washington DC, Hawaii, Alaska, Florida and more, he always wanted to someday return to Alaska. Rob joined U.S. Customs and Border Protection once settled in Florida; he was stationed at the Miami Seaport. It was here that he met his beloved future wife, Jamilette. After attending training and maintaining a relationship, the happy couple wed on August 9, 2008 at St. Jude Catholic Church in Boca Raton.

Rob was very spontaneous, loved to joke around and make people laugh and generally was a very well-liked gentleman. His ability to conduct interviews that resulted in answers were envied by many. He was also very thoughtful and known for surprising his coworkers with donuts regularly. Rob loved to go shooting at the range and was a master SCUBA diver. Above all, Rob was an extremely patriotic man, proud of his country, our freedom and the liberties that America provides. Rob and Jamilette observe July 4th yearly with a large celebration- it was Rob's favorite holiday.

Rob follows to heaven his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Jamilette; sister, Faith Montgomery; his parents-in-law, Marcy and Jose L. Cintron; and siblings-in-law, Jose, Orlando, and Alecxy Cintron. Also left to cherish his memory are his nieces and nephews, Jon Shipley, Brandon Shipley, Christopher Hevlow, Taylor Hevlow, Orlando M. Cintron, Alexandra M. Cintron, Adriana M. Cintron, and Julian Cintron.
