Robert Francis Tufo, 77, of North Lauderdale, FL, peacefully passed away with his children at his bedside on October 5, 2021.
Born
on December 31, 1943 in Bronx, New York to Vincent and Mary Tufo, he was the middle of 5 sons and a father to three
emotionally
attached children.
Bob, an amazing father to his three children, was affectionately referred to as their MVP. All three of his children were very
proud of
him. He was, by far, our biggest fan and best friend. While raising his kids, he never missed
a sporting event or milestone
.
When his children
reached adulthood, Bob was not only the strongest advocate in any goal they strived
for, but
served as an excellent
sounding board and advisor, guiding his children through life's ups and downs.
He wore many hats as a
dad.
Father, friend, teacher
,
advisor, comforter, psychologist, dining partner, travel partner and
much more.
A very humble man, Bob enjoyed the simple things in life: finding humor in most situations, being generous with his time and always
offering a helping hand.
His memory was sharper than his own
children's memory and he had a heart of gold. Bob was considered nonjudgmental, caring, helpful and good-natured. His career with
Delta
Airlines afforded him the ability to retire early at the age
of 57. He spent his 20 years of retirement taking cruises or road
trips, educating himself on the computer, spending quality time with his children and each of his dogs, and enjoying meals with
his loved ones, and much more. He was famous for his Bobby-isms.
Verbal
expressions that he created on his own in order to make everyone smile.
Bob is survived by his three children, Dana, Bobby, Jr, and Darin (and Pauline); his siblings, Vincent, Jr, and Jimmy; beloved
cousins;
numerous nieces and nephews; his step family and his beloved Bichon Frisé, Zoey. Bob was preceded in death by his
brothers, Freddie
and Richard "Dickie" Tufo. He will be forever missed by his entire family, and he will always be remembered
as a kind, compassionate,
fun-loving person. As for his children, he is the greatest father any son or daughter could have.
It is an honor and a privilege to
call him "Dad."
Rest in Peace. We love you!!!
