Obituary

Roberta (Robbie) Meredith Krebeck of Coconut Creek was born into heaven on February 11, 2021, just shy of her 95th birthday. Robbie was a beloved wife, mother of 3, grandmother of 5, great-grandmother of 6, sister, aunt and friend to many. She adored her family but maintained a robust social life and often warmly extended the family circle to "adopt" neighbors, friends or members of her many communities into her heart. Robbie exuded a quiet, but powerful positivity and lived a life committed to spirituality, peace and healing. Her calm, joyful demeanor touched all who were blessed to know her.

Born in Fingerville, South Carolina on April 6th, 1926, Robbie was a lifelong learner, pursuing interests in spirituality, astrology, Reiki, Tai-Chi, drawing, natural health and cross-country travel with her beloved husband of 50 years, Norman. Together, they made 3 trips around the USA, once going all the way to Alaska. After marrying and moving to Washington, D.C., Robbie and Norman raised 3 children - Karen, Brad and Traci. Retirement brought the two to Winchester, VA to enjoy fresh air, land and their beloved Blue Ridge mountains. Between roadtrips, they stayed active by selling collections of coins and baseball cards and building, decorating and furnishing dollhouses. After Norman passed in 1999, Robbie was eventually lured to Florida to be closer to family.

Fiercely independent and naturally social, and still quite spry, she was looking forward to her second vaccine shot and renewing her adventures with the Senior Center, especially the casino! On most days, you'd find her working the Sunday crossword, studying a new spiritual lesson or crushing one of her daughters or granddaughters in a match of Scrabble or Rummikub. She rarely lost, a fact she took great pride in, and if she did lose, we knew we'd be in for another game!

Robbie embraced and prided herself on her hard-won age of 94 and wore each year like a badge of honor and raised her eyebrows smugly when strangers at airports or parties insisted she couldn't possibly be 92...93... 94 ! She was an example to those that loved her of how to age with grace and never take a day for granted. On her 92nd birthday, she took a road trip to Nashville, TN for a visit to the Grand Ole Opry. She glowed as they celebrated her for being the same age as the Opry!

Robbie was predeceased by her husband, Norman, and son, Brad. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by those she leaves behind including her children, Traci Krebeck Scharf and Karen Krebeck Ruff; grandchildren, David Krebeck, Kimberly Krebeck Legagneux, Amanda Ward, Kari and Erica Scharf; and six great-grandchildren, Meredith and Michelle Legagneux, Finn and Eli Ward, and Riley and Wyatt Krebeck.

Robbie's friends and loved ones are welcomed to join the family for a Celebration of Her Life on April 6th, 2021, what would have been Robbie's 95th Birthday, at Monarch Funeral Home from 3:00 PM to 5:00PM, with a Life Celebration Service at 4:00PM.
