Obituary

Rudy DiPietro, 68, of Deerfield Beach, FL passed away unexpectedly on March 5, 2022. Born in Manchester, CT on February 21st 1954 he was the eldest son to the late Rudolph and Dorothy (Childs) DiPietro. Rudy graduated Manchester High School in 1972 and then resided most of his life in the Manchester/Glastonbury areas of Connecticut. However, for the last six years, Rudy has been living in Deerfield Beach with frequent trips to Connecticut to visit friends and family.

Rudy was the owner of Route 66 Motor Sports for many years before finding his home as General Manager at Renaissance Prowler.
Rudy was one of a kind. He lived every day to the fullest and was truly the life of the party. He made a friend out of anyone he met- from the gas station clerk to the president of a large corporation which created an endless circle of friends. There was never a dull moment when you were with Rudy.

He had a passion for the unique and different, exhibited in his 57 Merc Wagon. He was a lover of cars, boats, bikes, and golf carts (and of course the ladies).

In his short time in FL, he was able to live out his passions by enjoying "Coffee & Cars" on Sundays, bike rides and boat shows with his buddies, Mitch, John L., and John. He also never missed an opportunity to help Michael & Laurie with their new FL house, especially putting together their new furniture.

While everyone knew Rudy he only had one person he called his "right hand man." Mitch was his partner in crime, he was there through thick and thin at times even being his sense of reason.

During his Connecticut visits Rudy was fond of traditions; every trip he made sure to "make the rounds" as he would say. Dinners in Stonington with friends, Drinks with his brother at the local spot, Movie nights at his son's house, a stop at Cava, a day trip to East Lyme with his granddaughters and the annual Garrity Christmas Eve. Believe it or not, during the summer nights you would find him out on his deck relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet.

Throughout Rudy's life the one thing he was most proud of was his son Kyle. Rudy spoke frequently of Kyle and his family along with all of their accomplishments. The two always found time to play golf, hit a car show or do something as a family when Rudy was in town. Rudy had a special bond with both his grand daughters. Rudy would regularly pick Arianna up from school, hit the donut shop, and take her back to work with him. However, when Spencer was born everyone took a backseat as that little girl melted his heart. Those two had a bond like no other. You would often here him say SPENNNCEEERRR while she ran up and hugged him.

Rudy is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Kyle and Delia; granddaughters, Arianna and Spencer; brothers, Anthony (Michelle) DiPietro and Joseph (Karen) DiPietro; sister, Margaret (Ed) Peterson; and nieces and nephew, Brooke, Erika, and Keagan; and extended family.

In addition to the services in FL, a Celebration of Life will be held at Georgina's Restaurant, 275 Boston Turnpike, Bolton, CT on March 27th from 11am-3pm. Remember this is a party for Rudy. Casual attire.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you remember Rudy by taking a page out of his book. Take the unplanned vacation, buy the expensive bottle of wine, go out to dinner, take a ride to the car show, smile, and laugh a little more.

Carry on.
