Sandra Vanessa Potopsingh Asher was the eldest child of Frederick Anthony Potopsingh and Joybelle Potopsingh born in London, England on November 10, 1963. Her parents immigrated to England from Jamaica in the early 1960's to further their education. In the early 1970's, the family immigrated to the United States and settled in South Florida. Sandra attended St. Anthony's Catholic School and St. Thomas Aquinas High School where she graduated.

On a beautiful summer evening, Sandra met her soulmate, Dustin Allen Asher. They fell in love and enjoyed long walks, loved the beach, and shared an eclectic mix of music. They were married on February 12, 2011, in an intimate ceremony surrounded by family and friends in Deerfield Beach, Florida.

Best known for her organization and creative abilities, Sandra had a lifelong passion for the arts. She had an innate ability to bring imaginative ideas to life through fashion, interior design, and visual arts. Sandra was known as a brilliant seamstress, a trait she inherited early in her life as she watched her mother, maternal grandmother (Adeline Reid), and great aunt (Dorothy Harrison) create customized wedding gowns, draperies, and everyday fashion. Designing for others guided her path to starting her own business as a seamstress, which she continued for more than twenty-five years. In most recent years, she turned her focus to interior redesign, custom draperies, and working with home stagers to bring a fresh, innovative visions to life.

She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted husband and caregiver, Dustin Asher of Margate, Florida; mother, Joybelle Potopsingh of North Lauderdale, Florida; father Frederick Anthony Potopsingh (Arlene) of Kingston, Jamaica; mother-in-law, Deborah Masch (Patrick Benton) of Terrell, Texas; sister, Marie Ann Potopsingh Gauthier (Eric) and nephew (Anthony) of Coral Springs, Florida; brother-in-law, Aaron Asher (Nicole) of Deerfield, Florida; great-aunt Dorothy Harrison of Kingston, Jamaica; uncle, Oscar Reid of Mandeville, Jamaica; a host of other relatives residing in Jamaica, Canada, England, and throughout the United States.
