Obituary

Timothy J. Moriarty, of Parkland, Florida, beloved father and husband passed away peacefully June 28, 2021. He was 76 years old.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Derr) of 37 years; sons, Sean Moriarty and Bo Lamon (Jennifer); daughters, Kim Pastick and Sirkka Saboe (Olav); and grandchildren, Rachael, Wade, Haylee, Maiken, Rory and Meara. His siblings, Tom (Debra), Ted (Katy) and Judi are also left to cherish his memory. He was predeceased by his parents, Tom Moriarty, Sr. and Alice (Akerlind); and sister, Janet.

Born in Hartford on October 3, 1944, Tim moved to Glastonbury in 1954. He attended Glastonbury public schools and was a member of the 1962 GHS graduating class. After high school, Tim served in the US Navy before working for Southern New England Telephone for over 29 years. Tim lived most of his life in Glastonbury, raising his children there, playing softball for local teams and serving on the towns' planning and zoning committee. In 1998, Tim relocated to Florida where he took up motorcycling again and became an active member of the Goldwing Road Riders Association. He and his wife Nancy traveled all over the United States with their motorcycling group, visiting friends and family along the way, documenting their travels to National Parks and various historic sites. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren and all of their accomplishments. Tim will be remembered by his family and close friends as a kind and giving soul with a quick Irish wit and a knack for story-telling. A special thank you to Tim's daughter-in-law Glinda the Good Witch (Jennifer), with whom he had a special and treasured connection.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Tim's name can made to The American Cancer Society.
