Willard
Lowery
Jun 26, 1952 — Oct 8, 2024
Willard Lowery, was born on June 26th, 1952 in The Bronx, NY and entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 8th 2024 at his home in Tamarac, FL.
Willard was known as "Billy" by friends, but his childhood nickname was "Bones" which is why he's affectionately known throughout the family as "Uncle Bones."
Billy is the son of the late Ada Pearson and Joseph P. Lowery. He was the youngest of three children from Ada; with a sister Elizabeth (Pearson) Boyd and brother James Fred Pearson.
Although born in the Bronx, he spent his early childhood in Greenwood, SC. He would later move to St Albans Queens, NY upon the death of his mother Ada. He graduated from Thomas A. Edison High School and joined the U.S. Marine Corps, serving 12 years in a variety of countries, to include the Philippines where he would meet his first wife Leony. They married and had their only child together, his daughter Armida.
Upon his release from active duty, Billy began working for the federal government in a variety of positions with The Bureau of Prisons and US Immigration and Naturalization Service. During that time, he would meet his current wife, Hester and her son Brandon and they were married in 1999.
Billy graduated from Bronx Community College with an A.A. in Paralegal Studies in 1993. During his time at BCC, he served as president of the Paralegal Society. Upon his retirement from the government in 2007, Billy and Hester moved to Tamarac, Florida to be closer to his grandchildren, Aliyah, Leilene, and LeNiya.
Billy was a beloved member of Vision for Christ Ministries in Pompano Beach, FL headed by Pastor Donald Robinson and Co-Pastor Lucy Robinson where he served as a minister.
Billy enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow up and serving his church and community as much as he could. He was an avid sports fan, loved to dress in the best suits, loved music and singing and his love for his family will always be unmatched.
Billy is survived by his wife, Hester, his daughter Armida (Steven), his three grand-children Aliyah, Leilene, and LeNiya, his step-son Brandon, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved him dearly. He is preceded in death by his sister Elizabeth Boyd, brother James Fred Pearson, and uncle Marcus Willard Pearson.
Billy has left a void in our hearts that can never be filled. We will cherish the beautiful memories we made with him and will carry them forever.
Rest in Peace Willard Lowery, until we meet again.
