Yanick K.
Larrieux
Oct 26, 1945 — Jul 3, 2025
Yanick Kenol Larrieux, 79, of Coral Springs, Florida, was called to her eternal home on July 3, 2025.
She was born on October 26, 1945, in Saint Marc, Haiti, as the beloved middle child of Dr. Louis and Eita Kenol. Yanick enjoyed a delightful childhood surrounded by her siblings, Mona and Claude, as well as cousins and friends. She attended St. Rose de Lima School (LALU) and then Nouveau College Bird School, both in Port-au-Prince.
In 1966, at the age of 20, Yanick immigrated to the United States. She married Jean-Claude Larrieux in December 1972 and graduated from Bronx Community College with an Associate in Applied Science in Nursing in 1975. The couple welcomed their first child, Cassandre, in 1977, followed by their second child, Claudine, in 1978, and their third child, Laeticia, in 1981. After the dissolution of her marriage in 1981, Yanick continued her education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the City College of New York in 1982. She remarried in 1984, and the couple welcomed their son, Christian, in 1985. Following the end of her second marriage, Yanick and her children moved to Coral Springs, Florida, in February 1992, where they built a new life centered around their faith. To this day, the family remains active parishioners at Saint Andrew Roman Catholic Church.
Yanick faced many hardships in her life. Instead of allowing these challenges to defeat her, they strengthened her faith. A lifelong Roman Catholic, she leaned heavily on the Lord, and was often found praying late into the night and during the early hours of the morning.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis (1969) and Eita (1994); her daughter, Claudine Larrieux (2023), her son, Christian Baudin (2024), and her niece, Katiana Leon Harrison (2022). Though she believed in the Resurrection, the deaths of her children deeply wounded her.
Yanick would not want us to dwell on her hardships, but to focus on her joys in life, especially the family and friends she cherished. She is survived by her siblings, Mona (Jean-Joseph) and Claude (Marjorie); her daughters, Cassandre and Laeticia; her daughter in love, Pascale (Patrick); daughter-in-law Christine (the widow of her late son Christian); her grandsons, Elijah Louis and Lucas John; her grandchildren in love, Patrick Jr. (Sara), Angelica, Alexa (Dylan), Gabrielle, Joyahna, and Jayson; and her great-granddaughter in love, Paisley.
She will also be cherished by her daughter in love Tisa Tigert (Andrew), along with their children: Henry, Annabelle, and Hazel. She will be remembered by her many nieces and nephews: Antonella, Jean-Joseph Jr. (Cassandre), Carlyn, Eugene (Lisa), Olivia (Justin), Julie (Armando), Claudica, Bertin, and their children. In addition, she will be fondly remembered by her extended family, including Alex Larrieux (Merideth), Philip Riccardi, and their children.
Although ill in body, the last years of Yanick's life were filled with joy and laughter in the home of her eldest daughter in love Pascale and husband Patrick, with her daughter Laeticia, surrounded by her grandchildren in love, and her furry companion, Bijou.
Yanick will be remembered as a pillar of faith by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to your local Salvation Army , whose support, along with that of family and friends, helped her during her times of greatest need.
"Blessed is the man who endures trial, for when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life which God has promised to those who love him." —James 1:12 RSV-CE
