Pamella Lucrecia
Ward
Nov 22, 1970 — Jan 25, 2022
Digital Copy of Pamella's Memorial Card
Born November 22, 1970, Pamella Lucretia Ward, fondly remembered as "Crickett" by loved ones, was the first of four children born to Patricia Ann Jones and John Inman. Pamella spent most of her childhood in Broward County, FL, often recalling a childhood that included loving, supportive parents, and a fondness for animals that she inherited from her father. Pamella specifically loved horses and often spoke of her childhood horseback rides on her own horse, Sally.
Soon after entering adulthood, Pamella began a family of her own. By 1994, she raised four children as a single mother and was determined to give them the best life she possibly could. Working two (and sometimes three) jobs was not uncommon. However, Pamella honed her natural business savvy and utilized her gifts, from tax law to spiritual guidance, to maintain multiple streams of income and provide for her family. Even after experiencing a life-changing injury in 1997 that left her fully disabled, she was still determined to maximize her resources to ensure that she could provide the absolute best life for her family.
At 31, after intense surgical trials and physical training, Pamella regained her motor functions and immediately worked to launch her first company, Chunky's Bounce House & Etc, a full-service party rental service. As the sole founder, she used her natural business prowess and maintained the company's marketing, advertising, accounting, customer relations, equipment, and partnerships all on her own. She successfully operated Chunky's Bounce House & Etc. for years, fulfilling her goal of providing for her family on her own terms.
Pamella's experience and passion for guiding others to success often made her a neighborhood matriarchal figure. Honing her passion for helping others succeed and higher education, she found fulfillment in helping countless adults enroll and complete college degrees and professional certificate programs at Kaplan University. Pamella would often go above and beyond to remove hurdles for degree seekers, often buying her student's laptops and providing financial assistance out of her personal funds. There were no limits to how far she would go to help others realize their dreams.
Pamella departed this life on January 25, 2022. She loved the beach, the film Pretty Woman, Jill Scott, and the color green, especially muted regal tones with olive, beige and champagne gold accents. Enduring her legacy is her mother, Patricia; siblings Gary (Uneeda) McCloud, John (Que) Ward, Sonya (Keith) Inman, Janeene (Terrance Lockhart) Ward, Norman W. Jones, Jr., Alvin (Maxine) Inman, and Calvin; as well as her children Michael, Janay, Moses, Kionte, Angelo, and Tajanay; her grandchildren, Ja'marcus, Grant, Demerious Martin, Moses Martin Jr., Ja'kai Grant, Ja'marion Martin and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
